What is NHS Health Check?
NHS Health Check is a free check-up for people aged 40 to 74. They are designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease and diabetes.

Why should I have an NHS Health Check?
Even if you feel perfectly healthy, your risk of developing certain health conditions increases as you age. NHS Health Check can help detect early signs of potential health issues and provide support to make simple lifestyle changes that can lower your risk.
What’s involved in an NHS Health Check?
The check takes about 20 to 30 minutes and usually includes:
- measuring your height, weight and BMI
- measuring your waist
- a blood pressure test
- a cholesterol test and blood sugar level test
You’ll also be asked some questions about your health.
